"Iron Range Engineering" is a unique collaboration among three different universities to provide engineering education to the communities of Northeastern Minnesota, specifically the Iron Range.  There are very distinct programs within Iron Range Engineering that cover upper division and graduate level courses:

Minnesota State University, Mankato - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

This professional four year engineering degree is hosted by Mesabi Range College in Virginia, Mn.  This program builds upon the two year pre-engineering program at Itasca Community College.  Its project-based curriculum make it a first of its kind in the state of Minnesota.  Students would need to complete a two year pre-engineering program before entering this program, or transfer from a four year institution with those equivalencies.

Bemidji State University - Bachelor's Degree in Applied Engineering

This program is designed specifically for individuals who typically possess a two-year technical degree (can be outside of engineering) and are interested in advancing their professional career.  This is primarily an online program.

University of Minnesota, Duluth - Master's Degree in Engineering

This program is designed to meet the needs of unemployed engineers, those engineers needing to maintain licensure or upgrade their engineering skills, those engineers looking to broaden their areas of employability.

In a move to improve student services at our Northeast Higher Education District community college campuses, Arrowhead University Consortium liaisons have been named at each location. These liaisons will be the first point of contact for community college students interested in programming to complete a bachelor's or master's degree in their local community. The campus liaisons are: Rick Mikesh, Itasca Community College; Lindsay Grott, Mesai Range Community and Technical College; Tammy Cook, Rainy River Community College, and; Tallie Nelson, Vermilion Community College. At Hibbing Community College, students are served by Brittany Shrimpton at the AUC office. See Contact Us for contact information.
